2001 was a year of breakthrough for JN medical library. Keeping pace with the electronic era, the library has envisioned and endeavoured into an ambitious process of library automation with primary objective of providing maximum benefits to the students and the faculty members.
Five computers with multi-media facilities have been installed in the library.
The Faculty Library has made several achievements during last few years and still poised for more achievements. Networking has been made and plan for purchase of good Library Automation Software, to log on with the Cyber world is the next item on our automation agenda.

The Faculty Library has started providing reference services from Medscape, Medline & Pubmed through Internet to our faculty members. AMU Computer Centre has allowed us to use Internet facility only on one system as yet. But very soon all the computers will be having Internet access and the services will be extended to students too.
Installation of Security Cameras (Close Circuit TV Camera System)
To monitor and to save the books / journals of the library from mutilation of pages by mischievous readers, a close circuit TV cameras have been installed on each floor of the library. Which is considered to be the one and unique system among the existing libraries of the Aligarh Muslim University campus.
Taking into consideration the problem faced by the readers due poor electricity supply, a separate Generator exclusively for the Faculty Library has also been installed.
Having full and conscientious support of the Principal, JN Medical College, Professor M. Mobashir, Dr. (Mrs.) Shaista Vasenwala, Hony’ Library Officer, Faculty Library, JNMC has achieved many milestones.
It would not be just if we failed to acknowledge the help extended by Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan, the University Librarian, whose continuous interest towards the improvement of the Faculty Library services has enabled to enhance the ranking of this library to its ultimate. And “Faculty Library, JNMC – a profile” is one of the out come of Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan’s encouragement.
